Capital market infrastructure giant Apex Fintech Solutions has partnered with Kalshi, the world's largest prediction market exchange, to launch a turnkey API solution that allows retail brokerage apps to offer event-contract trading on real-world outcomes without building complex clearing or Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) backbones. The integration gives firms access to market flow from Kalshi through Apex's existing AscendOS APIs for order management, position tracking, and market data, reducing development timelines from months to weeks. Under the arrangement, Apex handles clearing, custody, money movement, statements, and account management, while Kalshi supplies the regulated marketplace and its range of event contracts covering economic indicators, financial markets, weather, sports, and cultural events. Tastytrade has been named as the first firm to go live on the platform, having launched its own prediction markets in July 2026.
The API solution removes traditional barriers to offering regulated event contract trading. Apex manages FCM operations, clearing, segregated custody, and account administration on behalf of client firms, significantly reducing the infrastructure burden. Clients connect through existing AscendOS APIs, and event contract positions display alongside traditional securities within a single account view. Kalshi markets operate on a 24/7 basis, allowing activity outside traditional market hours, with automated real-time payouts credited to investor accounts once contract outcomes are determined. Kalshi is the first venue integrated into Apex's Prediction Markets Platform, a unified hub designed to simplify access to prediction market venues, with plans to introduce additional venues and expanded capabilities over time.
Travis McGhee, Global Head of Digital Markets at Apex Fintech Solutions, said the collaboration aims to let firms offer Kalshi's event contracts without a separate FCM buildout or extended development timelines. "Investors want to trade on direct events, not proxies," McGhee said. "Through our platform, clients can now offer Kalshi's event contracts with ease - no FCM buildout, no lengthy development cycles, no separate platform to manage". Max Crowley, VP of Business Development at Kalshi, added that the integration removes technical barriers that have historically limited firms' ability to offer prediction market access to their customers. "Apex's infrastructure opens the door for more firms to offer Kalshi markets to their customers," Crowley said.
For retail investors, the partnership transforms personal finance platforms into direct forecasting hubs. Traders can now hedge against real-world risks—such as inflation, supply chain disruptions, or economic data releases—directly inside their standard trading apps alongside stocks, options, and futures, with instant clearing and custody handling. The infrastructure eliminates the need for customers to use separate platforms or manage multiple accounts, bringing prediction market contracts into the same investment experience that already hosts traditional assets. The move reflects the continued expansion of prediction markets as a distinct category within the US financial infrastructure, alongside traditional securities trading. The development comes amid heightened regulatory attention, with the CFTC having recently exercised emergency authority to order Kalshi to continue operations despite a New York lawsuit seeking to shut down its event contracts. As Apex positions prediction market access as an incremental addition for firms already using its platform, the extent to which other client firms adopt the integration will shape the next phase of retail prediction market adoption.
